This uncut partial sheet of 82 unused, mint never hinged postage stamps was issued by Afghanistan in 1951 during the reign of King Mohammed Zahir Shah. Identified as Michel No. 352, the 60 Poul definitive stamp features a historic architectural tower framed within an ornate arch, accompanied by the inscription “POSTES AFGHANISTAN” and the denomination 60. Preserved as a large, unseparated sheet section, this piece offers an interesting example of mid-20th-century Afghan stamp production and the country’s use of historic architectural landmarks in its definitive issues.
